Ned and Albert on a Pony

This is the picture Grandma referred to in her May 23, 1925 diary entry of Albert and Ned on the pony. Ned's in front. In the background is their house and someone, probably Grandma, standing on the porch.

Clothes Line

Seems that boys will be boys, even in their "dressy" clothes. I assume this is Dale, Dick and Albert, but don't know for sure. I also assume they were dressed up for something and didn't always play around dressed like little gentlemen with ties and all.

Three Generations

Three generations of family. Back row is Nancy Eliz. Campbell, Rolla Campbell, Ruth Campbell Smith, Winifred Campbell and Mable Campbell. Front Row are Ruth's sons: Dale, Dick, Albert, and Ned Smith. (Nancy and Rolla Campbell are Ruth's parent's, Winifred is Ruth's niece and Mable is Winifred's mother (first wife of Ruth's brother Harry).

These are some pages from Grandma's diary. The book is actually called a "Remembrancer" and I think generally her husband gave her one for Christmas. I feel we are so fortunate to have these to remember Grandma and learn about her life as a young mother in the 1920's!

Bess

This is a picture of Bess Smith (Gilbert's sister) with a soldier. Is this the man she married, and then later the marriage was annulled? See post on March 8th for more about Bess.

Mac is a good friend. He is mentioned in posts on April 21st and March 27th.
